Opera, drama, comedy, puppets: Our 2018 lineup has something for everyone

The schedule for the 2018 Liverpool International Theatre Festival. Times and lineup are subject to change.

 

The 2018 Liverpool International Theatre Festival will feature 11 plays from 10 countries, featuring everything from a Chinese opera and a Mexican play featuring puppets with a political message to a Bengali retelling of the Moliere classic The Miser and a sweet, affecting non-verbal play from Liverpool’s own Winds of Change. (Because of the international nature of our festival, the schedule and lineup are subject to change, depending on individual troupe visa applications and travel issues.)

Opening night is Thurs., Oct. 18. All plays are at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

Place a bid on one of the amazing Jester Fish painted by South Shore artists!

Our Facebook auction runs until Oct. 10 at midnight. Minimum bid is $25 on one-sided Jester Fish and $35 on two-sided Jester Fish. You must bid in $5 increments by leaving a comment on the photo of the fish you want. Winners will be contact by Facebook Messenger to arrange payment.

All proceeds from the auction benefit the 2018 Liverpool International Theatre Festival.

You are cordially invited to join us in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, for the 14th Biennial Liverpool International Theatre Festival, taking place October 18 – 21, 2018! Once again, we’ll welcome the world to the Astor Theatre stage and our Town Hall Arts and Culture Centre, with a lineup of one-act plays offering something for every theatrical appetite.

Our four-day festival showcases outstanding amateur theatre from across North America and around the world. Previous participants from Japan, Belgium, Ireland, Georgia, Italy, Russia, Denmark, Germany and many other countries, sing the praises of their experience in Liverpool.
