May 14 - 18, 2014 - Liverpool, Nova Scotia Canada

Welcome!

You are cordially invited to join us in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, for the 12th Biennial Liverpool International Theatre Festival, taking place May 14th to 18th, 2014!  Once again, we’ll welcome the world to the Astor Theatre stage, with a lineup of one-act plays offering something for every theatrical appetite.

Our five-day festival showcases outstanding amateur theatre from across North America and around the world.  Previous participants from Japan, Belgium, Ireland, Syria, Italy, Russia, Denmark, Germany and many other countries, sing the praises of their experience in Liverpool.

Artistic Director Eva DeGruchy Moore, an accomplished actor, director, and producer, is one of the creators of  LITF and played an instrumental part throughout the process that culminated in 1992′s inaugural festival.  Eva served as the Artistic Director at that event and at each subsequent festival until her departure in 2004.  Eva returned as Artistic Director in 2012 and is currently the Artistic Director/Producer for New Actor’s Colony Theatre in Bala, Ontario.

We’re also delighted to welcome back Annette Procunier as Adjudicator.  A perennial favourite at LITF, Annette brings many years of experience in community and professional theatre.  A gifted adjudicator, she has worked festivals in Europe, Asia, Ireland, the US and Canada. In 2009, the American Association of Community Theatre honoured her as a Fellow for “single handedly raising the level of community theatre in America”, the only non-American to hold this distinction.

While in Liverpool, you’ll delight in our world-renowned Nova Scotia hospitality!  From our performances, Coffee Critiques, to our Festival Club and late night events, we offer a social and performance experience that is second to none. Check out our “About the Area” link for information on local accommodations and tourist attractions.  Spring is a beautiful time to visit Liverpool.

Join us in May as Liverpool opens its doors to the world!
